As the pack Alpha, Roul Verlaine always looked out for his twin brother Ranulf. Now, Ran’s mated and run off to New York City. Deciding to check up on his twin, Roul hires the Watcher Agency to follow Ran and his new mate. But when Roul arrives at Watcher, the owner is not what he expected.
Morgan Kale is a rare white werewolf, a lone wolf. She’s not looking for a mate so when Roul walks into her office and her senses start pinging, she’s not exactly happy about it. With Roul only in New York for three days, Morgan has to decide whether to tell him they are mates… or let him walk out of her life forever.
(Mating has a companion story about Roul’s twin, Ranulf. Runaways is also available at Freya’s Bower.)

“Having had the pleasure of reading several books by Lex Valentine, I think this one is by far my favorite so far. It makes me wish there was a score higher than 5 just for books like this one. Although it is a short novella, it is beautifully written with the fire that I have come to expect from Ms. Valentine. Mating will have you reaching for your closest loved one and needing to curl up and enjoy their companionship anyway you can. If you are without a mate, you will definitely be hoping that one comes into your life as strong and capable as Morgan and Roul are.”
“I find that normally in the shorter tales you either love them or hate them. In this case it was definitely love at first sight. Morgan and Roul’s tale stole my imagination with its descriptions and the amount of emotions held within these few pages. If you are looking for a story that will grab onto your imagination, and heart strings, that you can read during a lunch period this is the one for you. I will definitely be rereading it time and again! Kudos go to Lex Valentine!”
