		<description>Thank you so much for blogging this. Even if I didn&#039;t write bear shape shifters, it really makes my cranky mamma bear come out when I see publishers taking advantage of authors. I mean seriously, without authors those pubs would be out of business in a heartbeat. Why screw the golden goose?

I know when I got my first publishing contract, I had to read it about five times before I was confident I understood it, and then I went to an authors&#039; forum and looked for &quot;red flags&quot; to be sure there weren&#039;t any in the contract I had. There are plenty of ways to get advice on contracts if you aren&#039;t sure what you&#039;re looking at, and as a newbie I&#039;m glad there are experienced authors helping out.
